This is a weekend of things that go boo in the dark, so here’s a little bit of boo (which turns into a love story between a skeleton and a beautiful maiden). They meet?or have they already met? ? in a famous bookstore in Paris.

This comes from filmmaker Spike Jonze and designer Olympia Le-Tan. It’s called Mourir Aupres de toi, or To Die By Your Side.

Many beautiful books and one very famous whale make cameo appearances.

Warning: There’s explicitly sexual behavior at the very end, during the credits, but because everybody is dead, there are no x-rated body parts. Still, imaginative youngsters might want to leave when the story ends.

Have a happy, and not-too-scary Halloween.

Hey there! Call me Eira. I’ve been roleplaying for almost six years and been writing stories and novels for more than twelve. I’m into a lot of genres and I am also very flexible when it comes to crazy ideas and plots–flexible in general, actually. :3 Here’s more about me–and this will be long, along with the requirements, but you should read it all~ .3.

Image

+ I write from 700 words to 1500 per character, and if we’re doubling, I will double the amount of words.

+ I live in the EST time zone. However, I am always up fairly late into the night, sometimes 2 or 3 am.

+ I do attend school; but then I always do come back. However, I check the site during school hours and multiple times during the day on my mobile phone. :3

+ I like being friends with my partners. ;3 I’m very friendly and I do not have severe mood swings, I promise. xD

+ I like to chat with my rp partners. I use MSN constantly, but I usually stay away from other programs.

+ I love romance. <3 And I love angst. Put those together and you have a happy Eira. I don’t do love at first sight. That’s boring~

+ As for Genres, I am very flexible in those terms. I’ve done Realistic, Futuristic(Dystopian/Utopian), Myths(think Greek myths or folklore), Medieval, Victorian, Steampunk, Crime, Supernatural, Sci-Fi, Historical, Fantasy…etc…etc. xD But all my roleplays will have romance in them, whether it is angst and tragedy ridden or fluffy and cute.

+ The rating will be up to you. I am perfectly fine with mature content, whether it be gore, rape or sexual situations, and I am also fine keeping it PG13. But if you turn this into a Saw movie, I will not be fine with that. If you turn this into a porn movie, I will not be fine with that either. :/ Bedroom scenes can be tastefully written out if that is comfortable with you.

+ I roleplay only on this site. Either through pm or threads; if we are doing mature content I suppose pms are the better way to go.

+ My characters will curse if they are the type to. |D

+ I use a lot of details and imagery in my writing–it makes things all the more fun, I think. ;3

+ I am very visual. I will put in graphics, pictures, and sometimes music along with my posts. Graphics like the ones I have in this post. |D With names and maybe a quote or something. :3 Makes things fun, right? I don’t expect the same from you, but if you’d like, I’d be willing to make you some for your character.

+ Here are some of the things I really like;
- Fae lore. Maybe you’ve read Holly Black’s novels–those are very good. Stuff with Changelings, glamour, dark and twisted fae–not Tinker Bell. xD
- Twisted Fairy tales. A bit dark, no? But I still love it. <3
- There are books that I’d be willing to do roleplays off of–either with completely original characters or mixing in canon characters, or completely canon. Take the Hunger Games trilogy and the Song of Ice and Fire books for example. Oh, or Holly Black’s Tithe trilogy.
- Movies and anime apply too. Movies like Inception or Push (I’m sure there’s more), and various anime usually do spark interest. TV shows also work too–I’m a big fan of Criminal Minds.
- Games, like Dragon Age, etc, etc, etc… You get my drift. :3
- …There’s more, I know it. Just ask! xD

Image
+ The ability to roleplay as a male character. I’ll be honest and say I am better at playing as a female character. However, I can double if you’d like–and I do roleplay well as guys too, if I do say so myself. |D

+ Literacy. Did I really have to write this? .3.;; Like I’ve said above, I write 700 to 1500 words per character, and I do expect you to respond likewise.

+ Correct grammar, spelling, punctuation. And sentence structure. No run-ons like this they are so annoying and I want to cry every single time I see one and crying makes my contact go weird okay? (…It was so hard to write that, you have no idea! ;w;) I do make typos time to time, and I don’t mind if you do, either. However, if it’s going on five times in a paragraph I’m going to be sad. xD

+ Maturity. I can be random and all happy-go-lucky when we’re chatting, but I write earnestly and seriously. I’d like the same from you.

+ Creativity. I will drop you like this if you stick a Mary-Sue or a Gary-Stu on me. I swear I will. ;~; I don’t like to do that, but I cannot handle perfect or cliche characters. These characters are human. Human. As in, they have flaws and bad qualities, as well as good ones. Keep that in mind. |D

+ Contribution. I want in-put and teamwork. I am bad at making decisions for two people–not because I’m wishy-washy, but because I want this to be a group effort, yes?

+ Consideration. We both have lives outside of the internet; I am sure one of us will be busy, sick, on a trip, or etc at one point in time. I perfectly understand that, but I’d still like a warning if you are going to be away~ Of course, I will do the same. ;D

+ Honest opinions. Tell me stuff! ;D Tell me what you think of an idea, character, plot development! I do not sugar coat and I do not take well to it either. |D I can take honest opinions.

+ Dedication. I like to post. I do. Like, once a day. Please? ;w; I can understand if it’s due to a special circumstance–or even if one person posts each day. :3 And if you are leaving, do say so. I swear I will not make a fuss about it. xD

This ended up being long, like I thought. :/ Hmmm. Well, if you’ve read all this, thank you~ So if there is anyone interested, please pm me or post a reply~ <33

- Eira ;3

Yup.

Two employees of a Philadelphia abortion clinic where live, viable babies were allegedly killed and a patient died after being given on overdose of painkillers pleaded guilty on Thursday to murder.Guilty pleas to third-degree murder were entered by Adrienne Moton, 34, and Sherry West, 52, who both worked for Dr. Kermit Gosnell at what prosecutors have described as a decrepit and unsanitary clinic known as Women?s Medical Society in West Philadelphia.

Due to a court-issued gag order, attorneys declined to comment on reports that no plea agreement was reached in the case.

Sentencing was set for December 2 by Common Pleas Judge Benjamin Lerner. The maximum penalty for third-degree murder is 40 years in prison.

Seven more defendants face charges in the case, including Gosnell, who a grand jury in January said, ?killed babies and endangered women. What we mean is that he regularly and illegally delivered live, viable babies in the third trimester of pregnancy ? and then murdered these newborns by severing their spinal cords with scissors.?

Regal rap titans bounced through Watch the Throne cuts and solo smashes in a set marked by a gaudy display of hits.

ATLANTA, Georgia — Not even a stormy night could stop the regal reign of the Throne. On Friday, Jay-Z and Kanye West opened up their Watch the Throne Tour in Atlanta. While the WTT album has been noted for its opulent displays of wealth, Hov and Yeezy’s show will be marked by the duo’s overabundance of hit records.

The doors to the Philips Arena opened at 7:30 p.m. ET and, with no scheduled show opener, the house DJ played old slow jams like the Isley Brothers’ “Between the Sheets,” Little Beaver’s “Get into the Party Life” and Hank Crawford’s “Wildflower” — all songs that have been sampled by Kanye and Jay at one time or another. Still, the subtle measure wasn’t nearly enough to keep fans satisfied. By 9 p.m. ET, the crunked-up crowd was restless and salivating for the night’s stars.

With the house lights low and fans pumped, the multilayered instrumental from “H.A.M.” came blaring through the sound system. The initial WTT track has been criticized by some as too over-the-top and too much unlike anything in Jay and ‘Ye’s respective catalogs, but the helter-skelter mix of crashing symbals, bleeps, beeps and bombastic bass was clearly built specifically for sports stadiums and grand auditoriums.

The build was perfect, even if the execution wasn’t. Kanye commandeered a rising platform at the front of the stage, while Jay simultaneously occupied a similar lift that was situated on the floor in the middle of the crowd. Within moments, the duo were elevated in unison towering above the audience, volleying verses from one side of the arena to the other. Jay stumbled vocally, though: His ear piece short-circuited and failed failed to properly feed him the music and his timing was clearly affected. For a time, Hov’s raps were badly off-beat.

But there were no fits, and no cursing at the sound man. Instead, Jay fought through the malfunction, which lasted through the next song. While mid-verse on the dubstep-laced “Who Gon Stop Me,” Jigga cued to have the music cut, then finished his bars a capella, buying time until the technical mistake was corrected. From there, perfection ensued.

“Otis” came early in the set. With a Givenchy-designed American flag flashing on the stage’s main screens, the Throne bounced through their fan-fave with a youthful glee. Surprisingly, the Roc Boys performed a number of hyped-up Watch the Throne cuts in the first quarter of the show.

With the Throne tone set, Kanye disappeared from the stage while Jay got his rocks off spitting his 1997 street banger “Where I’m From.” Throughout the night, Hov and Yeezy would trade off, rocking a few solo songs a piece, before coming together for something collaborative. ‘Ye tore through “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” and “Jesus Walks” all by himself, before Jigga reappeared for Yeezy’s “Diamonds from Sierra Leone (Remix).”

Jay’s “Public Service Announcement” and “You Don’t Know” were played against Kanye’s “Good Life” and “Power” in a sound clash of sorts. By the time the Louis Vuitton Don launched into the gut-wrenching “Runaway,” he had hit his stride. He even remixed “Runaway,” pleading with the crowd to hold on to their loved ones as he sang, “If you love somebody tonight, hold on real tight.” It was effective as couples in the crowd, hugged, danced and two lovebirds even made out.

In a comical section of the set, Jay-Z and the College Dropout weaved a funny story line where their hits “Big Pimpin’,” “Gold Digger” and “99 Problems” became a narrative for Jay to school his “little brother” on the opposite sex.

Kanye owned the outfit of the night. After one particular wardrobe change, he marched out to “Touch the Sky” sporting a tribal-type jacket, leather kilt, leather pants underneath and his glow-in-the-dark Air Yeezys. Hov’s black Yankee snapback and matching hoodie were no match.

Every time the crowd thought the two-hour-plus show was over, it wasn’t. First there was “N—as in Paris.” The track’s Will Farrell intro (“We’re gonna skate to one song and one song only”) brought on the moment that everyone was waiting for. As the Atlanta crowd bounced feverishly to the Hit Boy-produced single, Jay halted the proceedings midway: “Start that sh– over,” he barked and the Throne’s most-energetic selection of the night brought the crowd to an apex.

Next was Jay’s “Encore,” followed by an inspirational rendition of “Made in America,” complete with images of Martin Luther King Jr. and “sweet brother” Malcolm X flashing on the big screen. Finally, the Throne closed with the rocked-out “Why I Love You,” saluting the crowd as they moseyed offstage. “Peace ATL, thanks for all the love. Goodnight,” Jay-Z said.

On a night where the two kings put their wealth on full display, lucky for Atlanta, Jay and Kanye West were willing to share.

We managed to grab enough time with the Lumia 800‘s retail innards here at Nokia World, revealing some welcome extras including a flexible rubberized case for that affectionate lump of polycarbonate. The requisite data cable, power adapter and headset are all accounted for inside the packaging, which is covered in shots of this dark, not-so-mysterious phone. It’s all a bit more vibrant than the packaging of its other 2011 phone, but is still coated in that unmistakable Nokia blue. We expect to get our excitable digits on a review model very — very — soon, but until then check out more shots of what we can expect to get alongside Nokia’s premier Windows Phone handset.
